As pure as possible

Overview hair colour 6.1 ash light brown

The ash light brown hair dye is of professional quality and designed to use at home. As pure as possible, without ammonia, sulfate, resorcinol and parabens. Therefore it’s a very mild way of dyeing your hair, less harmful for your hair and scalp and makes the hair shine. The pigment in this permanent hair colour makes sure that the ash light brown colour stays good-looking and doesn’t fade over time. Every package of hair dye is enough for medium hair. If your hair is shorter, you can use the same package to dye your outgrowth a few more times. Our hair dye has, unlike much other hair dye, a shelf life of 12 months. However, only unmixed dye can be stored. Colour cream that's already mixed with the developer can't be kept.

The ash light brown hair dye is in a tube of 60ml which you should mix with the developer (6%) in a ratio of 1:1. The package of hair dye contains everything you need:

  • Tube with colour cream ash light brown - 60ml
  • Developer 6% - 60ml
  • Brush with comb
  • Plastic gloves
  • User manual
  • Sachet of shampoo (15ml) and conditioner (15ml)

With a 6% hyrdogen peroxide developer you can lighten up your hair 1 - 2 tints to an ash light brown colour if it hasn't been dyed yet. If your hair is darker than ash light brown and it's been dyed, you can't make it any lighter with this colour.

Why ash light brown hair dye?

Ash tints always look a little darker than natural tints. That's because there's a dark blue pigment in ash tints to prevent a warm (oramge/red) glow. Does your natural hair have a lot of unwanted warmth? If so, an ash brown colour is perfect for you. The warmth is compromised by the ash light brown colour, giving you a natural look. You could also choose a lighter tint if you don't want a dark colour. Use our hair colour advice tool to see which colour fits your hair best. You have to make sure you pick the right colour, because you can't dye dark dyed hair back into a lighter colour. You'd have to decolorise it. If you've dyed your hair too dark, it'll be up to 8 weeks before it'll get lighter again. We therefore advise you to rather pick a colour too light than too dark. The ash dark blonde hair dye 7.1 is a lighter alternative for the 6.1. Is the 7.1 too light, and you still want the 6.1? We'll send you the 6.1 for free. If you think the 6.1 ash light brown doesn't have enough coverage on your grey hair, we advise you to mix the 6.1 with the 6.0 brown. The 6.0 is a natural tint, which always has better coverage.

Our hair dye in the colour 6.1 is an ash light brown colour. An ash tint is perfect for you if your hair quickly gets a warm (orange/red) tint. If you do want a warm tint, the 6.71 hazelnut light brown is the best option. The 6.1 has full grey coverage. Is the 6.1 too dark? You could also choose the 7.1 ash dark blonde.  Of course it's also possible to mix the 6.1 and the 7.1. If you have 'hard' hair, hair that's difficult to dye, it's best to use a mixture of the 5.0 brown and the 6.1 ash light brown. The 5.0 is a natural tint, so the mixture will have better coverage. If you have damaged and porous hair, you should choose a lighter tint. Your hair then absorbs more dye, making the colour appear darker than you may have wanted.

Still not sure which colour to choose? We have a total of 32 colours to choose from. All these colours are mixable, so you can mix your personal colour however you want. Take a look at our Pinterest for inspiration and for examples of the colours we offer.

The light brown hair dye - 6.0 costs €19.95, including shipping. If you order multiple packages of hair dye, you can get up to €5 in sales per package. Still have doubts about which colour to choose? We recommend using our hair colour advice tool. We also give answers to lots of questions in our FAQ's, and have blogs going deeper into certain subjects.

Every package comes equipped with an instruction flyer. The mixing ratio of colour cream and developer is 1:1. Shake the developer well before use. Mix 1 tube of colour cream with 1 bottle of developer in a plastic or glass bowl until you have an even mixture. If you only want to dye your outgrowth or if your hair is very short, you can use half of both the developer and the colour cream. Use the hair colour within 12 months after opening. Once you've applied the dye to your roots, continue applying the dye throughout the lengths and ends. Use the end of the brush to separate sections of hair. Per section, brush the colour into your hair and massage it thoroughly so it's evenly spread. Repeat this for all sections. When you've finished, leave the colour in your hair to develop for 35 minutes

Read the instructions carefully before colouring!

Preparation and tips
Preparation and tips

Tips and tricks for dyeing your hair with the best results:

  • We recommend that you perform an allergy test at least three days before dyeing your hair. Mix a tiny bit of the colour cream with a drop of the developer and apply it on the inside of your arm under a plaster. Make sure you leave the dye for at least 72 hours, occasionally check to see how your skin is reacting to the dye. If you have an allergic reaction, we advise you not to dye your hair.
  • For the best results, don’t wash your hair for two days before dyeing your hair. This protects your scalp.
  • Use an old towel.
  • Always use plastic gloves (included in the package).
  • Don't use a metal bowl to mix the colouring. Always use a plastic or glass bowl.
  • Use a brush to apply the dye (included in the package).
  • Use an alarm to keep track of the time.
  • If you won't be using all of the colour cream in one go, it's best to use kitchen scales to accurately measure out the cream.
  • Before applying the dye, you can apply some oil-based cream to your hairline along your forehead, ears and neck so the dye won't stain your skin.
