Overview hair colour 5.7 chocolate brown

The chocolate brown hair dye is of professional quality and designed to use at home. As pure as possible, without ammonia, sulfate, resorcinol and parabens. Therefore it’s a very mild way of dyeing your hair, less harmful for your hair and scalp and makes the hair shine. The pigment in this permanent hair colour makes sure that the chocolate brown colour stays good-looking and doesn’t fade over time. Every package of hair dye is enough for medium hair. If your hair is shorter, you can use the same package to dye your outgrowth a few more times. Our hair dye has, unlike much other hair dye, a shelf life of 12 months. However, only unmixed dye can be stored. Colour cream that's already mixed with the developer can't be kept.

The colour comes in a tube of 60ml which has to be mixed with the activator with a ratio of 1:1. The colour and activator should be mixed with the enclosed brush in a plastic container (warning: do not use a metal container or metal cutlery! When the colour comes in touch with metal, it will rust and remain unusable).

Why chocolate brown hair dye?

This chocolate brown hair colour is a nice, warm hair colour. The hair dye has good coverage on grey hair. If you naturally have hair that's difficult to dye, you should probably choose a natural tint like the colour brown 5.0. You could also mix the chocolate brown hair dye with the brown hair dye.

This hair dye has a lot of pigment. This means that it may turn out to be darker than desired on damaged and porous hair, because these types of hair absorb the paint better. You can use our hair colour advice tool to see which colour fits your hair best. You can't dye dark dyed hair any lighter, you'd have to decolorise it. If you've dyed your hair too dark, it can 8-12 weeks before your hair will lighten up again. A lighter alternative for the 5.7 chocolate brown would be the 6.71 hazelnut light brown.

Contents of a package of chocolate brown hair dye

The chocolate brown hair dye is in a tube of 60ml which you mix with the developer (6%) in a ratio of 1:1. A package of hair dye you'll get through your mailbox contains:

  • Tube of chocolate brown colourcream - 60ml
  • Developer 6% - 60ml
  • Brush with comb
  • Plastic gloves
  • User manual
  • Sachet of shampoo and conditioner

With a 6% hyrdogen peroxide developer you can lighten up your hair 1 - 2 tints to a chocolate brown colour if it hasn't been dyed yet. If your hair is darker than chocolate brown and it's been dyed, you can't make it any lighter with this colour.

Shipping to Belgium, Germany and England is free if you order mulitple products. Unfortunately, our products can't fit through the mailbox in countries abroad because these orders require a signature before recieval.

Our hair dye in the colour 5.7 is a warm, chocolate brown hair colour. The dye has good grey coverage if your hair is less than 50% grey. If you're (almost) completely grey, you should probably choose a natural colour like the brown 5.0 or dark brown 3.0 instead. If your hair is damaged or porous, you should choose a lighter tint. Damaged and porous hair absorbs the dye better, often making it darker than desired. If you have 'hard' hair, hair that's difficult to dye, you should choose a darker tint. It's possible that the colour might be more transparent due to the lack of ammonia, ppd and resorcinol. A darker tint often has best results in that case.

Every package comes equipped with an instruction flyer. The mixing ratio of colour cream and developer is 1:1. Shake the developer well before use. Mix 1 tube of colour cream with 1 bottle of developer in a plastic or glass bowl until you have an even mixture. If you only want to dye your outgrowth or if your hair is very short, you can use half of both the developer and the colour cream. Use the hair colour within 12 months after opening. Once you've applied the dye to your roots, continue applying the dye throughout the lengths and ends. Use the end of the brush to separate sections of hair. Per section, brush the colour into your hair and massage it thoroughly so it's evenly spread. Repeat this for all sections. When you've finished, leave the colour in your hair to develop for 35 minutes

Preparation and tips
Preparation and tips

Tips and tricks for dyeing your hair with the best results:

  • We recommend that you perform an allergy test at least three days before dyeing your hair. Mix a tiny bit of the colour cream with a drop of the developer and apply it on the inside of your arm under a plaster. Make sure you leave the dye for at least 72 hours, occasionally check to see how your skin is reacting to the dye. If you have an allergic reaction, we advise you not to dye your hair.
  • For the best results, don’t wash your hair for two days before dyeing your hair. This protects your scalp.
  • Use an old towel.
  • Always use plastic gloves (included in the package).
  • Don't use a metal bowl to mix the colouring. Always use a plastic or glass bowl.
  • Use a brush to apply the dye (included in the package).
  • Use an alarm to keep track of the time.
  • If you won't be using all of the colour cream in one go, it's best to use kitchen scales to accurately measure out the cream.
  • Before applying the dye, you can apply some oil-based cream to your hairline along your forehead, ears and neck so the dye won't stain your skin.

What our clients say

The hair colour chocolate brown is a gorgeous, warm colour. The colour doesn't fade as quick as others do and it covered all my grey hairs! Very happy with the product.

This chocolate brown colour is exactly the colour I wanted, a nice warm colour. I have a feeling this colour will last for a long time and my hair is less frizzy, good stuff!
