As pure as possible

Overview hair colour 6.8 chestnut light brown

The chestnut light brown hair dye 6.8 is of professional quality, designed to use at home. Without ammonia, resorcinol and parabens it's as pure as possible and therefore better for your hair. After dyeing, your hair will shine and feel softer. The dye has no smell and is easy to apply, without any dripping. The pigment in the dye is of high quality, keeping the colour beautiful for long. You can also dye your outgrowth with this dye. The chestnut light brown hair dye can be kept in the tube for up to twelve months after opening. If you have short hair, you could possibly dye your hair twice with one tube. One package is enough for shoulderlength hair. For longer and thicker hair we recommend two pacakages. If you have very thick and a lot of hair, you might even need three packages. Make sure you have enough dye. It's better to have too much dye than too little, since it can be stored. It's important that you don't mix too much colourcream with the developer right away. Once the dye is mixed, you can't store it anymore.

About chestnut light brown hair dye

The results depend, like any other dye, on the colour and structure of your natural hair. If you have very light, fine, curly, porous or damaged hair, the chestnut light brown hair colour can turn out to be way darker than you want. In that case it's best to mix with the 7.0 dark blonde or with the 8.0 natural blonde for a lighter result. The 7.7 caramel blonde is also very beautiful in combination with the 6.8 chestnut light brown. Caramel dark blonde is a warm colour, so it'll give the hazelnut light brown a warmer look. The mixing ratio you can use if you're afraid the 6.8 is too dark for you is 1/2 6.8 and 1/2 7.7.

The chestnut light brown hair dye is in a tube of 60ml which you mix with the developer (6%) in a ratio of 1:1. The package contains everything you need:

  • Chestnut light brow colourcream - 60ml
  • Developer 6% - 60ml
  • Brush with comb
  • Plastic gloves
  • User manual
  • Sachet of shampoo (15ml) and conditioner (15ml)

With 6% hydrogen peroxide you van lighten your hair 1 - 2 tints to a chestnut light brown colour if it hasn't been dyed yet. If your hair is dyed to a colour darker than light brown, you can't make it any lighter with this dye.

Colour advice
Colour advice

Our hair dye in the colour 6.8 is a warm chestnut light brown colour. It has full coverage on grey hair. If the colour is too light for you, you can make it darker with the brown 5.0. If you'd rather have it a little lighter, you can mix the 6.8 with the 7.0 dark blonde or with the 7.7 caramel dark blonde. Is the 6.8 too warm for you? Then you could opt for the 6.0 light brown instead. If you have porous, fine, light, damaged or curly hair, your hair will absorb the paint better. That means the colour will probably end up darker than you want. For more information you can read the paragraph 'About chestnut light brown hair dye' above. If you have naturally grey hair and a grey outgrowth, it's best to mix the chestnut light brown with a natural tint, the 6.0 light brown. This has better coverage and a more natural result. The 6.8 alone can look brighter than you're used to on grey hair.

Every package comes equipped with an instruction flyer. The mixing ratio of colour cream and developer is 1:1. Shake the developer well before use. Mix 1 tube of colour cream with 1 bottle of developer in a plastic or glass bowl until you have an even mixture. If you only want to dye your outgrowth or if your hair is very short, you can use half of both the developer and the colour cream. Use the hair colour within 12 months after opening. Once you've applied the dye to your roots, continue applying the dye throughout the lengths and ends. Use the end of the brush to separate sections of hair. Per section, brush the colour into your hair and massage it thoroughly so it's evenly spread. Repeat this for all sections. When you've finished, leave the colour in your hair to develop for 35 minutes.

Read the instructions carefully before colouring!

Preparation and tips
Preparation and tips

Tips and tricks for dyeing your hair with the best results:

  • We recommend that you perform an allergy test at least three days before dyeing your hair. Mix a tiny bit of the colour cream with a drop of the developer and apply it on the inside of your arm under a plaster. Make sure you leave the dye for at least 72 hours, occasionally check to see how your skin is reacting to the dye. If you have an allergic reaction, we advise you not to dye your hair.
  • For the best results, don’t wash your hair for two days before dyeing your hair. This protects your scalp.
  • Use an old towel.
  • Always use plastic gloves (included in the package).
  • Don't use a metal bowl to mix the colouring. Always use a plastic or glass bowl.
  • Use a brush to apply the dye (included in the package).
  • Use an alarm to keep track of the time.
  • If you won't be using all of the colour cream in one go, it's best to use kitchen scales to accurately measure out the cream.
  • Before applying the dye, you can apply some oil-based cream to your hairline along your forehead, ears and neck so the dye won't stain your skin.
